At Refiner’s Fire Ministries, we are dedicated to helping others in times of crisis, sharing the Gospel, and demonstrating the love of God to everyone we meet. We believe in meeting both physical and spiritual needs by providing relief to those affected by natural disasters, homelessness, and abusive situations. Through our work, we help individuals rebuild, recover, and restore hope in their lives.

Why We Do the Work

Our faith is the driving force behind everything we do. Inspired by Jesus’ words in Matthew 25:40 - "Whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me"- we strive to be a light in the world and the salt of the earth.

Our founder’s journey began while volunteering with Samaritan’s Purse in response to a devastating tornado. That experience confirmed the calling to serve those in crisis. With backgrounds as former firefighters, we thrive in high-pressure situations and are equipped to make quick, informed decisions to help those in need.

John & Heather’s Story

John's Journey: A Heart for Service

John's life has been a testament to faith-driven action. From his early days in ministry to leading disaster relief efforts, he has devoted decades to uplifting those in need. Working on the front lines with organizations like Samaritan's Purse, John has witnessed the transformative power of compassion - whether providing aid after natural disasters or offering hope to struggling families. His belief is simple yet profound: faith demands action, and action changes lives. Driven by this conviction, John envisioned an organization that delivers immediate relief while paving the way for lasting change.

Heather's Calling: Empowering with Love

Heather’s passion for serving others was born out of her own journey through deep personal hardship. Having walked through seasons of struggle herself, she developed a profound empathy for those facing crisis, loss, and injustice. That compassion became the foundation of her calling. With decades of professional experience in healthcare and a long-standing commitment to volunteer work in social impact, Heather has dedicated her life to advocating for children, families, and marginalized communities—ensuring they have not only support, but a path to lasting hope. Whether mentoring youth, coordinating disaster relief efforts, providing care, or simply being a steady presence for someone in need, Heather leads with a heart rooted in faith and unconditional love. She believes true service isn’t just about meeting immediate needs—it’s about empowering people to rise, rebuild, and thrive. Every initiative she takes on is driven by a desire to create sustainable, God-centered change that transforms lives for the long term.

A Shared Vision: Building Hope Together

When John and Heather's paths crossed, their shared belief in service through faith sparked a powerful partnership. Together, they founded an initiative that responds to urgent needs-clean water, food, shelter-while fostering dignity and hope. Their work gained deeper purpose after witnessing the devastation of hurricanes in North Carolina, where they saw faith-driven organizations make a tangible difference. This experience inspired them to formalize their mission, creating a network of compassionate partners dedicated to transforming lives.

Their organization is more than relief - it's a movement grounded in faith, hope, and love. John and Heather are committed to connecting with others who share their vision of a world where no one faces hardship alone. Their efforts focus not only on meeting immediate needs but also on restoring dignity and empowering communities to rebuild stronger.
